Privacy Policy

The operator of F1 Analytics is the data controller for the limited processing described here. You can reach us through the contact page.

Because there are no accounts, the personal data involved is limited to the transient technical information created when any website is used, plus anything you choose to send us through the contact form:

• IP address (transient). Your IP is seen by our hosting providers and is used to (a) protect the service with rate limiting, (b) produce privacy-friendly, aggregated usage statistics, and (c) diagnose errors. We do not use it to identify or profile you. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, reliable and improving it (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Usage analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across sites or build a persistent profile of you. It gives us aggregate counts such as page views and referrers.
• Error monitoring. The backend API may report technical error details (such as the request path and a stack trace) to an error-monitoring service to help us fix bugs. These reports are about software faults, not about you.
• If you contact us. If you send a message through the contact form, we process your name (if you give it), email address and message solely to read and reply. The contact form is delivered by our form provider, Formspree (see below). Lawful basis: legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics is cookieless. If you use the “favourite” star or change display options, that preference is saved in your browser’s local storage on your own device — it is never transmitted to us and we cannot read it. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings.

We rely on the following service providers (processors / independent controllers). We send them no account data because we hold none:

• Vercel — website hosting and cookieless analytics.
• Railway — hosting for the backend API.
• An error-monitoring provider (e.g. Sentry) — technical error reports, when enabled.
• Formspree — delivers contact-form submissions to us; it receives the name, email and message you send.

Formula 1 statistics are fetched by our servers from the Jolpica (Ergast) API and the FastF1 library. Those requests are made server-side and do not include any information about you.

Some providers above may process data outside the UK/EEA (for example in the United States). Where that happens, transfers are intended to rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or on an adequacy decision.

We do not maintain a database of visitors. Aggregate analytics and server logs are short-lived and retained only as long as our providers’ default retention allows. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.

Under the UK/EU GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability, as well as the right to complain to a supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO). Because we hold almost no identifiable data about you and cannot single you out from analytics, we may be unable to action some requests without additional information — but we will always respond. F1 Analytics is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
